2009 All American Soap Box Derby of Southeast Texas
This Letter of Agreement “Agreement” is between The Rotary Club of Beaumont-Spindletop, Inc. “Club” and The All-American Soap Box Derby of Southeast Texas Award Winner “Winner” as listed below. This list the terms and conditions of the Scholarship Award “Award” that the “Winner” has earned as a result of placing either First, Second or Third in either the Stock Car or Super Stock Card division of the 2009 All-American Soap Box Derby of Southeast Texas. Prior to graduation from high school, the “Winner” will be invited from time to time to attend functions hosted by the “Club” including, but not limited to “Club” meetings, In order to receive their “Award” the “Winner” must comply with the following conditions: Graduate from high school Be accepted at a post high school institute of learning, including, but limited to University, Junior College, Trade School, etc. Remain free of any criminal offense other than minor traffic violations. The “Club” will invest a sufficient amount of money in such manner to be able to provide the “Winner” with their “Award”. The “Club” will provide the “Award” to the “Winner” upon satisfactory completion of the above-mentioned requirements. The “Awards” will be granted as follows: The first place “Winner” in each division will receive $2,000. The second place “Winner” in each division will receive $1,500. The third place “Winner” in each division will receive $1,000.
Super Kids SBD Agreement: This Scholarship will be forfeited if the above listed requirements are not satisfied within twelve (12) months of the scholarship award winner's high school graduation. However, the winner may receive their award without satisfying the above listed 3 requirements by submitting a written request to the club of a financial need which will assist in improving the quality of life of the award winner. This request is subject to approval by the club.
