IKE Day 5 3:09AM

I met my Rocket Queen today at the Skating Palace on Highway 96 between
here and Timbuktu. Joline Honeycutt, she was the Roller Dirby winner circa 1963
of Jasper County, and indeed she was the fairest in all the land. When she first caught my eye she was wearing black, hard, elbow pads, knee pads, and a hot pink hair bow that seemed to be choking tight her beautiful bleach-blonde, shoulder length hair. The Skating Palace opens from 12 to-5...Everyday. Joline is a regular at the Palace a true devoted Skating Palace patron. She stole my heart on Tuesday September 16th 2008 at 2:30 in the afternoon as I found my status in this world as a refugee coping with the aftermath of a cantankorous hurricane Ike. What's love got to do with it? Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken, Ike? What's love but a second hand emotion, Ike? Anyways I was hunkered down yonder underneath a sultry South East Texas sun dodgin the whirlwind when a whirlwind of a different sort lit my heart a flame. Set my world a fire Lord, set my world a fire.
You might ask yourself what good could come out of Galilee but I say what good could come out of Deep Southeast Texas on a cause of a Hurricane evacuation? You see Joline Honeycutt has stolen my heart, one glance at a time, and although there seems to be a slight age difference with her being in her early fifties and me just turnin thirty I find it hard for my heart to take a pass on such talent and beauty wrapped ever so nicely into one unique package. She knew exactly what roller rink she was in the day Kennedy was shot. I wasn't born just yet. I have an mp3 player and she still listens to Dolly Parton's "Islands in the Stream" on Beta Max, yet we both believe this should be the National Anthem and that the President should roller skate to get to where he is going between meetings at the whitehouse. I feel like Wilbur the day he won the first place ribbon at the pig showing every time I steal a look at my Joline. True love is the ability to see past the premature need for dentures to share a hot frito pie with extra chili followed by nachos and a Rock Star energy drink. We like to get all amped up before the Hokey Pokey gets started. You put your right foot in. You take your right foot out...You do the Hokey Pokey and you turn yourself around; yeah thats what its all about.

Twelve to Five in the afternoon shoots by like lightning now everyday! I made a descision a while back to quit my job down south at the plant and we got married by a priest at a hotel down by the lake, Hotel Splendid. We live on her social security checks now and I am heir to her fortune should she pass away before me. In the few short months we have been together Joline has racked up several new Dirby trophies, and helped put me through Juniour College. I take courses at the rink on the internet when I am not competing in the Rock Band competitions, but she insists that I take breaks when the couple skate starts. Thats our time.

So thank you Jesus for my new wife Joline Honeycutt. Thank you Tom Cruise, Oprah Wenfry, and Dolly Parton, a special thanks to the cast of the Dukes of Hazzard, and Bill Bixby for the work he did in The Incredible Hulk television series, and last but certainly not least, a big South East Texas Thank you must go to hurricane IKE... because love, this time Tina, has everything to do with it.
